Nestled amidst the bustling streets of West Hollywood, a Dracaena reflexa tree stands with its striking, spiky crown, a quiet guardian of memories for nearly 38 years. As I stroll past, it marks my route to the grocery store, a dependable presence that brings a sense of belonging. This tree has witnessed the rise of the Abbey Food & Bar, enriching the community’s spirit, and the vibrant celebrations during the West Hollywood Halloween Carnival, a testament to the area’s exuberance. With every glance at its resilient form, I am reminded of the stories it holds, echoing the pulse of this dynamic city.
